Acne medication: comparison of different drugs

Acne is the most common skin disease affecting up to 85% of people aged 12 to 25 years and 11% of individuals aged 25 years and older. Although acne usually passes on its own, this disease can persist up to the age of 30 years and older. Acne can lead to the formation of retracted scars. But even mild cases cause significant distress and have serious psychosocial consequences. Deep in the skin there are the glands forming a protective film – sebum. Secrete ducts go from these glands through which sebum can reach the surface of the skin.

Treatment of acne should be comprehensive. It is necessary to avoid stressful situations. However, most often depression is the result of an unpleasant skin condition. This is more often observed in adolescence, when the critical attitude towards one’s own appearance is exacerbated. Consultations of the psychologist can be useful. It is necessary to revise the diet, avoiding a large quantity of sweet, fatty, spicy, pickled, smoked dishes.

Currently in the arsenal of dermatologists and cosmetologists, there is a fairly wide range of drugs used for external treatment of various forms of acne. Effects of drugs are due to the impact on this or that mechanism of the development of acne:
